Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Norwell Systems LLC ("SnackLog", "we") for the SnackLog iOS app, SnackLog Plus and snacklog.app. By using them you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use SnackLog.

1. About SnackLog

SnackLog estimates the nutrition of what you tell it you ate or drank. Estimates come from food labels, published restaurant data, the USDA FoodData Central database and a language model's reasoning. Estimates can be inaccurate. SnackLog is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary or clinical advice. Do not rely on it to manage a medical condition, an allergy, a medication or a pregnancy; consult a qualified professional.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple. You must be 16 or older. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You may delete it at any time from Settings.

3. AI logging and the free allowance

AI logging sends the content of a message to our server and to Anthropic, as described in the Privacy Policy. The free plan includes a monthly number of AI logs shown in the app. We may change the allowance with notice in the app. Manual entry, saved items, Home, Health sync and widgets do not count against it.

4. SnackLog Plus

SnackLog Plus is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple. The price and term are shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use SnackLog to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to extract or resell its output at scale, or to probe or reverse engineer the server. We may suspend accounts that do.

6. Your content

What you log belongs to you. You grant us the limited right to process it in order to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep SnackLog available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue SnackLog Plus, Apple's refund rules apply to any prepaid period.

8. Disclaimers

SnackLog is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of nutrition estimates, to the fullest extent the law allows.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Norwell Systems LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of SnackLog. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they may not apply to you.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for SnackLog and is not responsible for any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on any US government list of prohibited parties.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Consumers keep any mandatory protections of their home jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are shown in the app before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept them.
